Vineyard Overview

Vineyard management practices are focused on achieving the highest quality grapes using sustainable techniques that benefit the health and natural harmony of the vineyard as a whole.

The vineyards for Domaine Anderson wines span the Anderson Valley, from the warmer, up-valley town of Boonville to the cooler regions closer to the Mendocino coast. They are planted on the valley floor, on gently sloped knolls, and on steep hillsides. Soils range from rocky, river gravels to the finest clay loams.

Wines are produced from 100% estate-grown grapes from the winery's own Anderson Valley vineyards, allowing complete control over stewardship of the land.

The Dach Vineyard

The Dach Vineyard encircles the winery from the surrounding hillsides. With its marine influence and northeast-southwest facing aspect, the land provides exceptional conditions for the cultivation of pinot noir and chardonnay. The vineyard has been planted with multiple heritage clones, contributing to the development of wines that are elegant and complex. Pinot noir grapes are sourced from just under 12 acres of the hillside vineyard directly in front of and surrounding the winery.

The Dach Vineyard is Demeter Certified Biodynamic and farmed organically to create a diversified, balanced ecosystem within the vineyard. Beneficial insectary plants provide habitat for friendly insects like ladybugs, beetles, and bees, as well as hummingbirds that help control vineyard pests and support pollination. All-natural compost preparations to restore soil and enhance fruit quality are used, along with a variety of cover crops in rotation to benefit vineyard health and to suppress diseases and pests. Drainage systems capture and move groundwater to our dedicated reservoir where it is repurposed for irrigation purposes.
